Why I Love Writing!

  By Amelia Kane     At first, I didn’t really care about writing. It wasn’t until I joined the Recess Writers club in first grade, that I realized it was really fun!     I started to attend it more often, and my work grew with my imagination. A little while after, still in first grade, my class started working on a new project; reports on animals! I chose a golden eagle. I learned all about them, wrote pages on them, then turned them into a book! I was so excited to write so many pages and words!     We were still doing Recess Writers in second grade, when I decided to work on writing more at home too. Along with Recess Writers in second grade, we also did something called Writer’s Workshop, it’s where we watched our teacher, or a video, teach strategies, and then we tried it ourselves. We also had to write our Living Legends script, and memorize it too!!!     One of my favorite writing pieces is something I created in third grade; my adventure story!
